Taking a week long road trip here in a few days.

Looking for suggestions on tunes that need to go with me.

Driving from Ohio to Denver, north through wyoming, through dakotas, mighigan's UP, down through macinac, and back to Cincinnati.

I usually try to put on some ambient and otherwise low-key music, with some more uptempo music for when I'm getting tired.

Zero 7, Groove Amanda, and many other bands I can't remember right now.

I also spend hours making "mix tapes" with new and/or indie bands.
Problem with these is I like a song, but have no idea who sang it.

interpol - turn off the bright lights
wilco - being there
grateful dead - greatest hits
tom petty - wildflower & highway companion (duh)
brian wilson - smile
mighty mighty bosstones - question the answers
the breeders - last splash

make sure to tune into local npr stations & country stations along to way to get a feel for the places you're passin' through.

I'd definitely suggest a lot of different playlists. Nothing's worse than a bunch of sad songs coming on when all you want is something loud and upbeat (and vice versa).
