This is very old and was originally in that The Sun article everyone is linking. I saw it at least two years ago but the lack of other coverage in the media and the lack of even a date on the The Sun article makes me doubt how real it is. I think I read about something like this a year ago. Honestly, I think people that have to have that many deadly/venomous creatures as pets deserve to have their pets eat them.
The termites in the story take any credibility out of it. Termites only eat plant materials, and would never gorge on a corpse. They might would have eaten his wooden leg or hardwood floors but not him.
