I really like this game a lot more than typical internet games.

Though I'm sure the 189 wpm folks are cheating somehow.

By the way, I typed this comment in 2 seconds. 

70wpm after a few games I SECKS.

The way it scrolled the text sorta messed with me. 

70 wpm is pretty fast, bud. I'm happy to get mid 60s. 

It is definitely a lot easier when you know the phrase you have to type. 

I always feel like I can type much faster when things are coming from my head, as well as when I'm not thinking about it. Like right now I am thinking about my typing and I am going slow and making a lot of mistakes.

Typing games are fail. I usually got about 85 wpm, but in reality I know I can get at least 100+ 

ive always hated capitalizations and punctuation and numbers as you can see in this sentence i just typed 

I agree with you Napoleon and have had many friends tell me the same thing. I find I type my fastest when I am expressing my full opinion onto someone in a chat based setting.

ie. playing Counter-Strike and someone calling me a cheater and having to assault their intelligence of the game but at the same time accept their compliment towards my unbelievable game play. >< 

Woot, got first on a race and I'm done for a bit. I averaged around 90wpm, but yeah, it was easier when you knew the phrases... though the only one I recognized was the "Blowin' in the wind" by Dylan. 

Erm, I hit space and it doesn't register...? Can't even complete the first sentence...bah!

Typing tests are measure how quickly you can transfer something to a computer... part of the test is your ability to read what you're about to type. Of course you can type a lot faster when all you have to read are the keys you're striking or the screen... that's just like complaining that Nascar races are invalid because it only takes one lap to get to get to the finish line.

If you're really getting 85 wpm, you're a great typist anyway. But the tests aren't fail so much as your understanding of what they are measuring. They are mainly for secretaries who aren't supposed to be very creative. 

Also doesnt help that the quotes are in American.

Eg: use of 'z' instead of 's' in words like "Specialise" .

I hate how the example scrolls as you type. I can't read it that way, therefore I have a hard time typing it like that. Is there a way to turn off the stupid scrolling?

Average typing speed after four races was 70 wpm. The more I played, the worse results I got. 

One try - 44wpm and I had to back up on almost every word. 

56wpm. Much better than I expected to do. I'm a terrible typer.

I think their wpm measurements are off, but I do only type with 2 fingers. It's closer to 85 or 90 WPM.

Cheat tip:

Find the line that is easiest for you to type, memorize it then play it over until you're in the 200wpm range... worked for me

I just now, while playing this realized that my keyboard is 10 years old. 

If I try I could max myself out at about 55-65WPM and thats working hard for me.

I've never been able to do the "Home Row" style of typing. I have my own retarded way of typing 

Weirdest fuckin shit. I just played this ONCE. I got about 65 wpm and got rocked by some secretary going 105. Sucked, I came 4th by a hair, so I look down and notice the quote was from a book.

A book I just got sent in the mail. That I had opened no more than 5 minutes before trying the typing test. The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch.

I made it at about 42 wpm. My wife sat down and cranked out 111 wpm. She used to hit 125 or 130 without error. Dang.... 

That scrolling fucking text is so fucking hard to follow for me. I keep typing the wrong word, then wasting 30 seconds deleting shit.

Still, worst I did was 55, average was between 65 and 75. 

oh, and fuck hyphenated words. 

Just got 89 wpm after 4 or 5 tries, so I will quit while I'm behind.... You know, the scrolling text does suck....

Fazed needs to keep track of our WPM while we type comments. 

I got 138 max so far but that's kind of a fluke. One of the paragraphs has all words in it that are easy to type, most of the other ones are more difficult and there's no way I'd approach 138 on those. My average fluctuates between 100 and 110.... Three years of playing a MUD ftw. 

lol. I clocked a consistent 85 after I got used to only single spacing after periods. That is until I got to the Han Solo exerpt. That got me up to an even 90. 

I just had to type a line from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - I usually average ~90wpm but this one cut me down to a measly 67 

It's fun. I type pretty fast, but it's also pretty frustrating to spell "fo" instead of "of" and have to delete 3 or 4 words to fix it. 

It's 3:42am, I'm exhausted, and I only tried it once. I got 100wpm on the button. Not bad.
