Akil Davis is a pretty sweet name for an FBI agent
Stolen from Fark.
I did raise the question of WTF are the two "nipple shields" there. Sgt Otter says one means he was on White House duty, the other one means he was assigned to the office of the Secretary of Defense. Both are very rare awards, though they don't denote anything particularly heroic.
I'm kinda curious how he even procured them. I'm sure there's ways to get fake Purple Hearts because they're used in movies, but these wouldn't likely be part of a costume in a movie if nobody's gonna recognize them. In fact they don't even look like a "real" medal to most people.

Seems like a lame thing to get arrested for. It's not like you're pretending to be a cop or a doctor, or someone with actual power. I guess if he strolled onto a base and started ordering people to fire off missiles or some shit that wouldn't work outside Hollywood, that would be a bad thing. But, come on now... seriously?

So does that mean I can claim that I was a CEO of a fortune 500 company? Can I put that on my resume? I wouldn't be assuming somebody else' identity. Not pretending to be someone of power, but it's still clearly a lie. Aside from it being dishonorable to impersonate someone who has achieved something, these laws are clearly in effect for a reason.

I could be wrong, but I thought those are more like badges than medals - and that you only wear them during the time you're assigned to those places. They joint chiefs have something similar. Too lazy to look it up and find out for sure.

Well, correlating with TSG report, that would be the Presidential Service Badge and Office of the Secretary of Defense Identification Badge.
The ladder does sound like something only worn when needed to identify themselves while at that office. The former might be one worn indefinitely afterwards, as a "service" badge.

And what reason is that? Your example doesn't provide anything that would give a valid reason, whatsoever.

Oh, and to answer your question; Yes, you can put that you were the CEO of a F500 on your resume. It's not illegal, so knock yourself out.
agreed. you need to be knocked out by yourself.
also. what is with this bitch not believing him so she takes a picture to get him arrested. she needs to get knocked out by herself as well.

What a bozo, the fact that he gave himself the highest enlisted rank possible, as an E-9 Master Gunnery Sergeant, tells you something about this guys thinking process.

Does that mean Dr. Dre doesn't have an M.D.? Ph.D? What kind of world allows people to give themselves whatever title they want? I'm the queen of France!

Pretty sad. He tried to buy respect and admiration to get babes. Apparently, lots of Army-Navy stores sell this stuff.
I can see how this happens. Here's my own story. Told people I was a doctor. They started asking for advice, then they wanted to visit me at my office, so I had to get an office - and a staff. If I'm going to do all that, I might as well associate myself with a hospital and bill insurance....ooops, gotta run. Surgery in 10 minutes. Talking out a bad looking thingamajig from some woman's doohickey.
I think he's already gotten his punishment, this is way beyond owned.

Because people get awarded a lot of those medals for putting themselves in harm's way for their fellow countrymen. A lot of people don't live to see themselves get awarded the navy cross. People like this cheapen all that. As a former Marine myself, I find this guy insulting. And I don't offend easily.

And anyone who's earned a real military medal can be rightly offended. But illegal? The governments going to tell him he can't dress up and pick up chicks?
Suspicious that Burton was playing dress up, Salonga asked to take a photo with him. That image, seen below, was later provided to FBI agents.
What a bitch. She should have just called him out on it, in public, and embarrassed him. Now he's caught in a tight ass's shit storm.

Actually, yes, you can. The most they can do is kick you out of the interview. They can't arrest you for claiming anything on a resume.
Now if they hire you and then you fuck up everything and cost them a lot of money and they find out you lied, then they will probably sue, but that's a lot of different than what's going on here.
Everyone should respect their veterans. No one's saying you shouldn't respect your veterans. On a social and personal level, most anyone will agree with that sentiment. Posing as a veteran is insipid.
But on a lawful level, it shouldn't be against the law to disrespect anything. Even veterans. That disrupts the very freedoms many veterans fought for.

WARNING! Flame-War trigger below! DO NOT READ IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE OPINIONS!!!
I'll start off by saying I respect what people in the military do for their country, and all the shit they put up with. That being said, it's their fucking job. There are plenty of jobs that deserve medals, ranging from teachers to surgeons. There are a lot of dangerous jobs that can and do often result in death or heinous injuries. Excuse me for not sucking every soldier's cock, but it's a job. Oh, you get pretty little merit badges for doing a good job? Neat. Some companies put stars on a board to let the office know who's leading in sales. It's the same thing as far as I'm concerned. While I recognize that this douchebag is a douchebag, I do not see that it's because he's wearing military medals. He's playing dress-up, for crying out loud.
That is, of course, unless you're drafted, in which case... well, shitty.

You're not a real Admiral, are you?
What you're seeing is the result of the complete and utter dilution of what we used to call a "hero." At one point the concept of hero was a valid currency the military could use to persuade young men and women to put their lives on the line for their country. However, with every soldier going to Iraq being called a "hero" (including the ones who died of their own ineptitude) that currency was significantly devalued. Sad little people like this guy, seeing the laurel wreaths being passed out like candy, started coming out of the woodwork and claiming service they had not performed. So Bush decided to bolster its cache with the "Stolen Valor Act" of 2005 and made it a criminal offense to claim military honors that you're not entitled too.
That being said... this guy needs to be locked in a room with a couple of real medal winners who have full immunity for their actions. And yeah, you can pretty much guarantee that the bitch that turned him in wouldn't be one of them. Real heroes don't do it for the validation.

Apparently (I'm not doing any research for this) its a new law that was instated by the Pol Pot of America. Its amazing that some warmonger's edict which makes protected elite of the mass murderers "serving" freedom (on 2x4's to the head) has any credibility at all.

He's approaching this all wrong.
You don't need to dress up as military to meet chicks. You can just stay yourself and meet chicks whose husbands are away with the military.
It's what I do.
What a maroon.
Seems like a lame thing to get arrested for.
It is not lame.
You do not need to respect any military member, nor view the military in any pleasant fashion. The military does not want YOU to impersonate them, and our Federal government backs, and will enforce that sentiment.
An active military member, particularly while in uniform, is expected to behave in a manner that will not bring discredit upon the armed services, nor perform in any way counter to the "good order and discipline."
When some "cyber-SEAL" quietly whisks his way into some party sharing his sparkle and scar tissue, unearned, and non-recognized, he does so without the support of the organization he impersonates.
Tempting, trivial, or commonplace, the Armed Services of America do not want you to do it, and if caught, they will prosecute. Nothing lame about it.
the law set in place to prevent people from posing as military personnel has to do with the fact that in our country, there are certain social perks that are built into the system for military people that is illegal to take advantage of (VA hospital admission, discounted public transportation, etc) i think that's the root of the problem.
