I think it's better, honestly. I don't believe there is a single bad episode of this series.
If you haven't watched the show, my recommendation would be not to watch that video. Most of those quotes really aren't that good if you don't have the context, and some of those are huge spoilers.
Also, Cool Lester Smooth is sorely underrepresented in that video.

Probably the best show on TV, that I've witnessed. It's hard to explain how well made it is unless you simply watch it with full attention. Hell, the "best 100" quotes are better than most seasons for other shows. Great show.

In what country is this show set? I can't seem to place the language or dialect. It has undertones of a rudimentary English base, but the sentence structure and pronunciation have been far removed from even the most basic rule set of the language. It reminds me of watching chimpanzees at the zoo fling feces at each other. Watching these primates attempt to communicate and interact frankly does not appeal to me. If I were to encounter any of these primates on the street, I would immediately lock my doors and reach for my sidearm.

IMO this is better then the Shield, I dropped off the Shield after season 4. I watched all 5 seasons of this in a month.

I watched the Wire before I watched Oz, and realized that 75% of the characters in The Wire were on Oz, and the rest are from Dexter.

The Wire is definitely one of the best TV shows of all time, but beyond that, I think if we were just comparing entertainiment in general, including film and stage, The Wire would still rank very close to the top.
